ASOIU students achieve second and third positions at the VI Robot Olympiad

From September 1 to 3, the VI Robot Olympiad took place at the National Gymnastics Arena, organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the World Robot Olympiad Association, and the Azerbaijan Robotics Engineering Academy (AREA). Teams consisting of students from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) were among the prize winners.

A total of 160 teams participated in this Olympiad. The competition included four categories for youth and young people aged 8 to 19: "Robomission," "Robosports," "Future innovators," and "Future engineers."

In the Senior category of the Future Innovators competition, the ALLIANCE team earned 2nd place. The team members are residents of the "Eazi Start" startup and innovation centre. Their robot, named "Beach Cleaner," performed the function of cleaning debris on sandy beaches. It's worth noting that the project leader, Sadig Aliyev, is a 3rd-year student in ASOIU's Information Technology program, and the team members include Jala Sevdimli, a 3rd-year student in ASOIU's Computer Sciences program, Seyidshah Muradov, a 3rd-year student in ADA University's Information Technology program, and Ibrahim Ibrahimli, a student at the Humanities Oriented School. The Platon Tech team also secured the 3rd place in the Future Innovators category during the Republic stage of the World Robot Olympiad.

The team's captain, Rufat Shixiyev, represents Azerbaijan Technical University, and other members include Farid Shixiyev from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University and Gabil Huseynli from Azerbaijan Technical University, all 3rd-year students.
