On September 19, an event titled "Successful Oil Strategy of the Great Leader," dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) in collaboration with the Nasimi District Executive Power.
At the beginning of the event, the participants placed flowers at the bust of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, paying profound respect to the memory of the national leader. Later, the event participants visited the Heydar Aliyev Museum at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, acquainting themselves with photos and exhibits related to the life and activities of the national leader.
During the ongoing event in the University's Event Hall, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and a one-minute silence was observed in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Subsequently, a documentary film related to the signing of the "Contract of the Century" was screened.
Speaking at the event, Acting Rector and Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov mentioned a series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader and emphasized the particular significance of this event, especially in relation to Oil Workers' Day. Highlighting the attention and care that the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev devoted to the development of the national oil industry, Vazeh Asgarov stated that, as a result of the prudent policies pursued by his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has not only become a developed country but has also made its name known as a victorious nation throughout the world.
Asif Asgarov, the Head of the Nasimi District Executive Power, noted in his speech the challenges and obstacles encountered on the path to the 'Contract of the Century,' emphasizing that it came to fruition due to the unwavering determination and robust statecraft of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, a prominent political and statesman figure, and his decisive and coherent political strategies. Noting that following the said contract, agreements were signed with more than 40 oil companies worldwide, and about 30 new agreements, Asif Asgarov characterized the 'Contract of the Century' as a defining event for Eurasia's new geo-economic map, outlining it as the most decisive factor in Azerbaijan's future development and partnership with global unity.
Professor Qafar Ismayilov from ASOIU's Oil and Gas Faculty spoke about the significance of the 'Contract of the Century' in Azerbaijan's oil industry, which has a 150-year history, emphasizing its importance in the continuous development of various sectors of the country's economy, particularly the oil industry and human capital.
