On September 24, a coastal cleanup campaign was conducted at the Caspian Sea shore in “Shix”, with active participation from the faculty, staff, and students of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ).

As part of “International Coastal Cleanup Day” and “Caspian Week”, and under the leadership of Acting Rector Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, a significant area of nearly 2 hectares along the Caspian shore was cleared of household and other types of waste. During the ecological campaign, participants were reminded of everyone's responsibility in protecting the environment, including the preservation of the Caspian Sea and nature, with the slogan “Let's protect the Caspian, let's protect nature.”

It should be noted that every year in September, various large-scale ecological events, including cleanup initiatives, are organized in our country as “International Coastal Cleanup Day” and “Caspian Sea Week”. The goal is to preserve the ecological purity of the sea and its surrounding environment, protect its resources, and continually raise public awareness about these critical matters.
