ASOIU held the first Academic Board meeting for the academic year 2023-2024

On September 27, the first meeting of the Academic Board was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) for the academic year 2023-2024. Initially, a minute of silence was observed in memory of our martyrs who gave their lives for the Motherland on September 27 - Remembrance Day.

Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, Acting Rector of ASOIU, announced the issues on the agenda to the Board members, and it was approved. Before discussing the agenda items, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov congratulated the university colleagues celebrating their jubilee age conventionally, Assoc. Prof. Mazahir Babayev, Chairman of the ASOIU Staff Union Committee; Assoc. Prof. Nazila Rahimova, Head of the "Computer Engineering" department; Assoc. Prof. Zarifa Afandiyeva, Head of the "Geology and Exploitation of the Deposits of Mineral Resources" department, and Assoc. Prof. Shahin Ismayilov, Head of the "Oil and Gas Engineering" department, wishes them strong health and success in their activities.

During the Academic Board meeting, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov congratulated the entire university collective, including the Board members, on the commencement of the new academic year. Then, he provided detailed information on the results of the 2022-2023 academic year, the pending issues for the 2023-2024 academic year, ongoing work, innovations, and specific goals according to the agenda.

Assoc. Prof. Gasim Mammadov, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs, spoke about the tasks facing the collective in the new academic year, the overall number of students admitted to bachelor's and master's degree programs at ASOIU for the year 2023 (including UFAZ and within the college), the results of the State Attestation for the academic year 2022-2023 regarding bachelor's graduation, and the defence of master's dissertations.

Professor Latafat Gardashova, vice-rector for Scientific Affairs, discussed ASOIU's scientific achievements and the upcoming tasks in this direction. Associate Professor Ata Babayev, vice-rector for Educational Affairs, presented a report on the attention and care given to ASOIU's martyrs alumni, especially the commission established at the university in this regard.

In the continued meeting under the chairmanship of Vazeh Asgarov, Acting Rector of ASOIU, the agenda items were discussed, and resolutions were adopted after thorough deliberation with the board members. Board members also presented their suggestions and comments on the raised issues.

Finally, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov provided recommendations and instructions to enhance education and raise the level of teaching at ASOIU, expand scientific achievements, and apply modern innovations in education in line with contemporary challenges for the new academic year, wishing success to everyone.
