On October 2, classes for the Master of Science (MSc) Dual Degree Program in Renewable Energy Sources between the University of Warwick, Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) commenced.
The first lecture, delivered by ASOIU's Associate Professor Orkhan Kerimzade, was attended by ASOIU's Acting Rector, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov. He discussed the importance of the program for the country and the university, emphasizing that the program will be consistently maintained. He wished the students success in their educational journey.
Professor Latafat Gardashova, ASOIU's Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, and the program's coordinator, Rafig Aliyev, highlighted the significance of implementing the program and conveyed their best wishes to the students.
In the end, questions from the students were addressed.
It is worth noting that the program was established within the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023," initiated by the Ministry of Science and Education. The program aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the rapidly expanding clean energy sector, contributing to our country's sustainable energy future. This is made possible thanks to the world-class professor-teacher staff recruited for the program. Within the project framework, 31 individuals were accepted to the University of Warwick.
