On October 14, the opening ceremony of the "Heydar Aliyev 100: Engineering Hackathon" intellectual competition was held in collaboration between the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

The event, held at the Azerbaijani-French University, began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Then, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, member of the NAP Board and Acting Rector of ASOIU, said that by the Order of President Ilham Aliyev, 2023 was declared the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in our country, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader, which is celebrated with great enthusiasm in our republic. Vazeh Asgarov emphasized the special attention of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the youth in his policies, and purposeful steps have been taken for the youth to achieve higher education, knowledge, and skills. Currently, this policy is successfully continued by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. Significant measures are being taken in our country to convert oil capital into human capital. The results of this policy are reflected in the successes of our youth.

Vazeh Asgarov underlined the importance of organizing such intellectual competitions that play a crucial role in the development of youth, increasing their knowledge and skills. He wished success to the teams participating in the competition.

Ahliman Tagiyev, Deputy Head of the NAP Central Apparatus, commemorated the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and spoke about his unique services to the Azerbaijani people and state. He emphasized that as a result of President Ilham Aliyev's successful continuation of Heydar Aliyev's policies, over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has achieved remarkable successes, rising to the heights of progress and triumph, transforming into a powerful and victorious country.
 

Ahliman Tagiyev stated that the youth policy laid down by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that as a result of this policy, an intellectual, patriotic, knowledgeable, and skilled young generation has emerged in our country. According to him, a large army of youth has also united within the New Azerbaijan Party, the most powerful political force in our country.

Fariz Latifov, Senior Software Engineer at Kapital Bank OJSC, spoke about the importance of the intellectual competition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of our youth's innovative potential.

Later, Elviz Ismayilov, the coordinator of the "Eazi Start" startup and innovation center, and Samer El Zant, the coordinator of the Computer Science Program at UFAZ, provided information about the rules and instructions for the competition.

It should be noted that the intellectual competition is represented by 30 teams from 21 universities. The competition, in which 120 students participate, will be held on October 14-15.
