The representatives of Warwick University are on a visit to ASOIU

On October 16, Mr Gareth Roberts, the Head of Special Projects at Warwick University in the UK, and Dr Phil Lewis, he Program Director visited the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

In the meeting with the delegation, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, Acting Rector of ASOIU, Professor Latafat Gardashova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs at ASOIU, and Latifa Nasibova, UFAZ Executive Director of UFAZ, participated. After welcoming the guests, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov provided information about the university, as well as international relations and dual-degree programs. Discussing the attention of the state to education and the state support for dual-degree programs, especially with foreign universities, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov emphasized the collaboration between ASOIU and many foreign higher education institutions. He highlighted the importance of jointly implementing a dual-degree program in renewable energy with Warwick University, responding to modern challenges.

Representatives of Warwick University expressed their satisfaction with being at ASOIU and conveyed their gratitude for the hospitality and special attention. Mr Gareth Roberts, the Head of Special Projects at Warwick University, mentioned that both universities have extensive opportunities to train the new generation of specialists in the rapidly advancing field of renewable energy and emphasized the necessity of further expanding collaboration in this field.

In the meeting where issues arising from the program were discussed, specific goals to be achieved with the participation of both higher education institutions were outlined.

Later, the guests visited ASOIU's AzII e-Book House, laboratories, and the Mineralogy museum, exploring the classrooms and getting a closer look at the university.
