On February 18, the rector of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, professor Mustafa Babanli met with the Alakbar Akhverdiyev, the director of drilling team of "Schlumberger" on Russia, Azerbaijan and Central Asia and technical director of MMS Holdings Group, professor Oktay Mammadbayov.

Rector of ASOIU, professor Mustafa Babanli spoke about the steps taken in order to improve the quality of teaching at the university, scientific works, exchange process and new projects. Noting the importance of teaching subjects in English in ASOIU, rector Mustafa Babanli highlighted that great works have been carried out in the field of transfer technology and startup.

The meeting featured a discussion about the development of joint educational programs among enterprises, the renovation of the university's laboratories, the involvement of ASOIU's students to pass practical internship in Schlumberger, giving lectures by the company's specialists at the university and other issues.

In the end, an agreement was reached to develop a joint plan on cooperation between ASOIU and "Schlumberger".
