On February 28, an event within the framework of the “New Generation” project was held at the Azerbaijan-French University (UFAZ) functioning under the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU)
Making a speech at the opening ceremony, the director of the Azerbaijan-French University, associate professor Vazeh Askerov welcomed the event participants and provided information about UFAZ and spoke about the educational opportunities of the university.
Providing information about the "New Generation" project, the stages of a mentoring phase that will start operating soon, Zaur Unsizadeh, the coordinator of the Youth Inc. wished the memorandum to be successful for long-term planned cooperation.
Later, a memorandum of understanding and cooperation was signed between the "Eazi START" Startup and Innovation Center and the Youth Inc. Entrepreneurship Program. The signed memorandum is intended for mutual exchange and development of teaching and practical methods of startup teams functioning within the framework of the “New Generation” project in both centers.
The Azerbaijan-French University was rewarded with the certificate of appreciation for their support within the framework of the “New Generation” project. At the second part of the event, more than 200 young people attended the "Idea Generation" training conducted by Sabina Rahimova.
Notably, "Youth Inc." Entrepreneurship Program operating since 2012 serves with Business Incubation Center since 2015. During its activity, 16 startups started to operate at Youth Inc., support has been given to 36 businesses, over 200 jobs opportunities were created, and overall more than 8,000 young people were involved. The "New Generation" project, supported by the Coca-Cola Foundation within the framework of the Youth Inc. Entrepreneurship Program is being implemented by the State Partnership of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2018, covers 4 economic regions throughout the country. The main purpose of the project is to involve young people in entrepreneurship and to connect existing business ideas to the startup ecosystem. "New Generation" project, that will last for 1 year, is carried out in Absheron, Guba-Khachmaz, Ganja-Gazakh and Shaki-Zagatala economic regions. Young entrepreneurs who joined the project will pass four stages.
