On March 1, XIV Republican Universiade of university students kicked off in Ganja. Seven students from the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) took part in the competition held on Judo. One of our students settled for first place, 3 students second place and 3 students third place.

Notably, according to the decision of European Capitals and Cities of Sports Federation association, it is planned to hold the table tennis and chess tournaments in Ganja city with regard to the awarding of the title of "European Cities of Sport".

Universiade competitions will end in October.
