On March 12 rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, professor Mustafa Babanli met with Imran Arzumanzade the director of "Azerikimya" Production Union. Expressing his pleasure to welcome M.Babanli, the rector of ASOIU  in Azerikimya PU in Sumgayit, I. Arzumanzade provided comprehensive information about the reconstruction and modernization works carried out here after transforming of  "Azerikimya" State Company to SOCAR, by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan ("Azerikimya" Production Union). After finishing these works in 2020 that worth about 1 billion manats, noting that the production of propylene will be increased from 60,000 to 175,000 tonnes and ethylene from 100,000 to 200,000 tonnes per year, I.Arzumanzade stressed that, by completing the works on the Oil Refinery in 2021, a complete production chain with modern equipment will be provided and the need for highly qualified young professionals to work here will be increased.

Rector of ASOIU, professor Mustafa Babanli expressed his gratitude to Imran Arzumanzade, General Director of "Azerkimya" PU for the invitation and provided information about the state of education at the university, accreditation of specialties, works carried on the adaptation of education to the requirements of production and industry. Noting that ASOIU attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerkimya PU, rector M.Babanli emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation on issues as identification of the topics of graduation works, undertaking a daily practical internship of students in accordance with the teaching program, as well as passing business practice.

Noting the possibility of conducting training in accordance with the requirements of the enterprise in the chosen subject section if  "Azerkimya" PU wishes, rector M.Babanli said that the specialists of the enterprise can study at the P.h.D level at ASOIU.

At the meeting, it was noted that the 119 fourth year student students of ASOIU are currently undertaken a practical internship at "Azerikimya" PU, a number of university graduates work in this enterprise. The sides have reached agreement on establishing a working group in order to identify ways to expand cooperation.
