On May 13 7th and 8th graders of the secondary school No. 5 in Absheron district made a field trip to Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

Schoolchildren started their tour from the History Museum of ASOIU and viewed the exhibits about oil history and university. ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev provided comprehensive information to the pupils on the university’s history, its activities in different periods, honorary alumni, and etc.
Then, pupils visited the Museum of Mineralogy and familiarized with various exhibits preserved in the museum. 

Then the mathematics lesson was held to the pupils at the Department of "General and Applied Mathematics".The purpose of the field trip is to acquaint the pupils with the university and to stimulate interest in math science.
