On May 20, the scientific and practical seminar on World Meteorological Day organized by the department of “ Instrument Engineering” was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

Opening the seminar held on "Industry without metrology?!", head of the department of "Instrument Engineering", Associate Professor Lala Bakhirova spoke about the reforms carried out in the field of metrology and applied innovations. She noted that in recent years, as a result of progressive reforms conducted by President Ilham Aliyev, fundamental changes have been made in the field of meteorology.

It was also noted that the reforms aimed at the development of the non-oil sector, conducted by the head of state serve the development of an innovative economy based on modern practices and human capital. The development of new technologies, new approaches and metrology are important to boost the industry's efficiency.

At the event, the head of the department of automation and metrology of SOCAR Azer Dadashli made a speech on "Application of metrology in the oil industry", the chief metrologist of "Azersun Holding" Rahim Mukhtarov on "The role of metrology in the food industry", a laboratory director of "Optimum Metrology Services" Ltd Rahim Babayev on "Medicine and Metrology", QMS manager of "Caspian Oilfield Services" Shamil Safarov on “QMS and importance of metrology in achievement of the quality in industrial organization” and Chief engineer of "RZ Inter" Abuzar Aslanbekov on "The importance of metrological support in the diagnostics and non-destructive testing method".
