On July 5, within the framework of the official visit to Azerbaijan, former member of the National Assembly of France, former Minister, presidential candidate in 2007, Ambassador for Arctic and Antarctic Poles, Mrs. Segolene Royal visited the Azerbaijan-French University functioning under the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
The guests first visited UFAZ's Chemistry and Physics labs. Ambassador delivered a lecture on "Climate Change" to UFAZ students.
The lecture was attended by Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, UFAZ Director, Associate Professor Vazeh Askerov and a delegation from France.
Before the presentation, Vazeh Askerov provided comprehensive information on the university.
Then, Mrs. S.Royal underlined that all countries should work jointly for climate change as well as global warming in the world. Speaking about the factors that could lead to climate change, she stressed that one of the key issues is related to waste.
Notably, Segolene Royal a member of the French National Assembly in 2002-2007 was President of the Poitou-Charentes Regional Council from 2004 to 2014. In the subsequent 2007 presidential election, she earned further distinction as the first woman to qualify for the second round of a presidential election.
