New academic year kicks off at ASOIU

On September 16 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held an event on the occasion of the start of 2019/2020 academic year and “Day of knowledge”.

The event was attended by Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli, chairman of the Food Safety Agency Goshgar Tahmazli, MP, ASOIU professor Huseynbala Miralamov, also the academic staff and students of the university. Rector of ASOIU Professor M. Babanli congratulated the students and their parents on the occasion of the “Day of knowledge” and announced the admission results for 2019/2020 academic year. He noted that the total admission to the ASOIU's specialties on bachelor degree was 2,731 this year. In addition, more than 450 students submitted their documents for second education to ASOIU. Graduates from other universities and other specialties also prefer our university for second higher education to benefit from the opportunity created for higher education at ADNSU. Admission to the master's level was high compared to the previous years and reached to 660. Rector M. Babanli noted that the interest to ASOIU among entrants and parents grow year by year. Thus, in 2019 the number of applicants with a score of more than 500 points in the country was 1866, of which 901 were admitted to the ASOIU. This year there are 554 students who have scored more than 600 points, 217 of them have chosen our university.

Then, making a speech the chairman of the Food Safety Agency, Goshgar Tahmazli, the deputy and the professor of ASOIU Huseynbala Miralamov, congratulated the students and their parents entering the university this year. They underlined that all conditions have been created for higher education at AzII today. The main duty of students is to benefit of this opportunity and receive a higher education. Afterward, the first-year students admitted to ASOIU with highest scores received student cards and gifts. At the end of the event, Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli, Chairman of the Food Safety Agency, Goshgar Tahmazli, visited the AzII E-Book House and the canteen of the university.
