Cooperation between ASOIU and China universities expands

Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) Professor Mustafa Babanli attended the II International Forum for university rectors titled “Belt and Road Initiative” held in the People’s Republic of China on May 21-23. Rector M. Babanli made a report at a forum which took place at Shanghai University. The rectors of the leading universities from Russia, China, Iran, Belarus, Egypt, Czech Republic, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries took part in the meeting dedicated to the development of innovative talents in higher education institutions. Within the frames of the trip, Rector of ASOIU Professor M. Babanli visited several universities located in Shanghai and signed a cooperation contract.

Founded in 1922, Shanghai University is considered as one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in China. With 37.800 students in total studying at 11 departments, the university accepts 2.000 international students every year. 72 scientific research institutes and High Technologies Center function under the university.

ASOIU delegation will realize a trip to Lanzhou University situated in China’s Gansu province on May 24-26. Established in 1909, the university has over 30.000 students. It is in the top 30 among 1.5000 Chinese universities. President of Lanzhou University Wang Cheng is the chairperson of China Higher Education Institutions Union. During the meeting, Rector M. Babanli and the President of Lanzhou University will also discuss the opening of ASOIU’s branch in Lanzhou.
