ASOIU holds the II Alumni Career Exhibition

The II Alumni Career Exhibition was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on May 27. At the exhibition, ASOIU students and alumni were offered job opportunities for a total of 239 vacancies by 56 companies. The exhibition involved SOCAR, Azersu OJSC, BP, Schneider Electric, Schlumberger and other state and private enterprises. Attended by nearly 1500 students and alumni, the event caused a keen interest of participants. Visiting the exhibition, Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli became familiar with the company stands and spoke to the company representatives about available vacancies. The exhibition was open to visitors from 10:00 to 14:00.

Later on, Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli met with the chairs and representatives of the companies participating in the exhibition. The Rector noted that the career exhibition, which had already turned into a tradition, has been successful this year as well. Pointing to the significance of the exhibition for the university and students, M. Babanli said that the Alumni Career Exhibition will be organized every year from now on. Rector Mustafa Babanli considered the expansion of cooperation ties between the university and companies as the primary factor for the development of both sides. "This year's statistical indicators make me happier in comparison with the last exhibition. Although the exhibition is organized for the 2nd time only, improvements are quite evident. We, as a university, have always paid close attention to students' internship at companies. We want to prepare specialists that are needed by companies. As the specializations taught in ASOIU are particularly based on practice, the collaboration with companies has always been a priority for us. Because we can only develop if we work together" – said Rector, Professor Mustafa Babanli.

Speaking about achievements as a result of reforms conducted at the university, daily internship programs and upcoming plans, Rector M. Babanli brought to notice that one of the crucial missions that ASOIU strives to achieve is to become a university which corresponds to international standards by using the accomplishments of the scientific and technical prosperity. The event was followed by discussions held with company chairs and representatives. Highly assessing the career exhibition organized by ASOIU, the company officials emphasized once again the importance of the university-company partnership in today's world. The event also included talks on the lack of specialists, students' problems and other existing challenges.
