ASOIU signs cooperation agreement with SAP University Alliances

Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) Professor Mustafa Babanli met on May 31 with Rufat Hajialibayov, Managing Director of SAP Azerbaijan, a world-class company on production of software applications, and Yury Kupriyanov, SAP University Alliances Country Manager for Russia and CIS countries.

At the meeting featuring discussions on the methods of benefitting from technological innovations, as well as the manufacturing of competitive products, the sides also talked about the preparation of qualified specialists for this particular field. Saying he attaches great importance to cooperation with SAP Azerbaijan, Rector M. Babanli informed the guests about new projects implemented at the university and Startup school.

Noting that mutual cooperation is a real opportunity for the vital mission such as providing the industry with high-quality and skilled professionals, R. Hajialibayov, Managing Director at SAP Azerbaijan, informed the participants about SAP University Alliances.

“Cooperation with SAP has brought great improvements to the country by using global trends. This project will also play a particular role in the development of business management. Our goal is to build a long-term cooperation which will be mutually beneficial for both sides, and contribute to the development of the country” – said R. Hajialibayov.

ASOIU’s partnership with SAP University Alliances will enable young professionals in the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan to gain positive experience in managing business processes in the world's leading oil companies, was noted at the meeting. The collaboration involves the organization of presentations for ASOIU students by SAP experts and access to platforms and technologies created by the company.

During the meeting, ASOIU and SAP University Alliances signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Operating for more than 20 years, SAP University Alliances includes 2300 universities from 90 countries around the globe. 82 higher education institutions in 7 countries (Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia) are now members of the University Alliances. Today, more than 200 teachers and over 250.000 students from CIS countries integrate SAP programs into their teaching during demo lectures, conferences, and contests.
