French-Azerbaijani University functioning on the basis of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University announces students’ admission for the academic year 2017/2018 on the following specializations:
- Chemical engineering
- Geophysical engineering
- Computer science
- Oil and gas engineering
Admission plan: 120 places on governmental basis
40 places on paid basis
For the year 2017/2018 UFAZ opens parallel admissions for candidates in the following cases:
- Admission of abiturients (residents of Azerbaijan passing through the State Examination procedure–SEC) in UFAZ Foundation Year (FY);
- Admission of students already admitted to any higher educational institution directly in UFAZ Year 1 (Y1);
- Admission of Foreign students (non-resident of Azerbaijan/not passing through the State Examination procedure–SEC) in UFAZ Foundation Year (FY).
- ADMISSION OF STUDENTS, RESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN PASSING THROUGH THE STATE EXAMINATION PROCEDURE–SEC IN UFAZ FOUNDATION YEAR (FY)
Only the students that gained more than 500 points during state examination organized by State Examination Center (SEC) in group 1, can take part in the recruitment examination created by the university of Strasbourg.
Education at UFAZ is provided in English language and the contest is open for the Azerbaijani and Russian sector students.
UFAZ entrance examination will be held in the following disciplines in Azerbaijani and Russian languages:
- physics (test form)
- chemistry (test form)
- mathematics (test form)
- general scientific knowledge (test form)
- English language (essay form)
* Receiving a failing grade of 07/20 or less at the English essay, candidates are automatically eliminated from the entrance exam.
Admission will be based on the results of the competition conducted by the UFAZ commission.

Students who are not admitted to UFAZ will still have the possibility to apply to other higher educational institutions in Azerbaijan.

- ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR AZERBAIJANI STUDENTS FROM ASOIU APPLYING DIRECTLY AT YEAR ONE (Y1)
The number of admissions will be limited according to the spaces available (up to 40 places for the Y1 in 2017 / 2018).
Students who wish to participate in the recruitment procedure should register online at www.ufaz.az.
The following documents are uploaded directly online in PDF format or brought to the university:
- Copy of the identification card
- Colored ID photo (3х4)
- Electronic application form
- High school certificate (“attestat”)
- Results of the entrance exam to Higher education (SEC)
- Academic records for the last 2 years signed and stamped by ASOIU
(minimum number of GPA 80/100)
- Signed and stamped certificate from ASOIU showing that they have successfully attended a bachelor course at the relevant level (Y1, Y2) corresponding to the UFAZ specialty for which they are applying
- CV in English language describing scholar and university curriculum, internship and/or professional experiences
- Motivation letter written in English language
*Students that have more than 2 years of studies after the end of their secondary education are not allowed to register for the UFAZ exam.
Selection process:
- After receiving approval upon registration, candidates have to pass a multiple choice question (MCQ) examination in Baku. This MCQ will be entirely based on scientific knowledge.
- The successful candidates will have an individual interview of 15 minutes at the end of July. This interview may be face-to-face in Baku if possible, or through video conference (Skype recommended).
* To be interviewed candidates have to obtain the minimum grade of 12/20 at the MCQ examination.
