“Graduation Day” was marked at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on June 30. The event was attended by Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli, Head of Nasimi District Executive Power Asif Asgarov, members of Parliament Malahat Ibrahimgizi and Huseynbala Miralamov, Public Reliance Council members, as well as academic staff and students of the university.

The event commenced with the national anthem.

Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli congratulated the students graduating from the university on the occasion of such a remarkable day and wished them success in their future endeavors.  

Rector M. Babanli noted that this year 1904 students are graduating from the university, adding that in 2016/2017 academic year 190 Bachelor’s and 168 Master’s students have completed their studies with an honors diploma. Rector also stressed that ASOIU student Rufat Mangushev finished his 4-year Bachelor’s education in only three years.

“526 people have been admitted to ASOIU’s Master’s degree for 2017/2018 academic year, and 92.6% of the places allocated by the university have been occupied. This is the highest indicator in the history of AzII. In this regard, I would like to express my gratitude to the academic staff of our university” – said Rector M. Babanli.

Asif Asgarov, Head of Nasimi District Executive Power, congratulated the graduates and wished them luck in future life. Saying that ASOIU has always been distinguished with its high-quality education, A. Asgarov noted that the alumni of this higher education institution had achieved great success in various areas.

Member of Parliament Malahat Ibrahimgizi congratulated the graduates and said that the architect and founder of our independent state national leader Heydar Aliyev always attached particular importance to the development of education and that President Ilham Aliyev successfully continues the policy of the Great Leader.  

Member of Parliament Professor Huseynbala Miralamov congratulated ASOIU graduates and advised them to represent the name of the university in the future worthily.

The honors diplomas and memory gifts were then presented to the students graduating from the university with excellent grades. The names of the best graduates were engraved into the symbolic log.

The event was followed by performances of “Ganjlik” song and dance ensemble and well-known singers.
