On October 27, the Academic Board held the next session for the academic year 2023-2024 at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
Initially, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, Acting Rector of ASOIU, extended congratulations to Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, on his jubilee on behalf of the Academic Board members and the university collective. He wished him strong health, a long life, and success in academic and pedagogical activities. Subsequently, Acting Rector, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov presented the agenda to the Board members, which received unanimous approval.
Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov provided comprehensive information to the Academic Board members regarding the issues, tasks, innovations, and specific goals set for the academic year 2023-2024, as well as the submission of a unified survey questionnaire concerning the improvement of the material-technical equipment for the departments operating near the faculties for the upcoming academic year.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, discussed the fulfillment of the academic workload for the 2022-2023 academic year and the status of professors, lecturers, and teaching assistants for the 2023-2024 academic year. Furthermore, Professor Latafat Gardashova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, presented a report on the activities of the Dissertation Councils and the results of doctoral admissions for the 2023-2024 academic year. Associate Professor Narmina Aliyeva, the Scientific Secretary, delivered a report on Qualification Affairs. The Dean of the Faculty of Geological Exploration, Associate Professor Namad Pashayev, presented the annual report on the faculty's activities, including admission statistics, the educational level at the faculty, completed tasks, and future objectives.
In the meeting, discussions were conducted regarding the issues raised, and extensive exchanges of opinions took place, resulting in unanimous decisions adopted by the members of the Academic Board.
Finally, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov provided suggestions and directives aimed at enhancing the quality of education and teaching, developing scientific achievements, and promptly implementing modern innovations in line with contemporary challenges at ASOIU.
