On November 7, an event dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).
The event commenced with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence to honor the dear memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event, Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, emphasized the unparalleled significance of the 44-day Patriotic War in Azerbaijani history under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, highlighting victories achieved not only on the battlefield but also diplomatically. Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the historic victory that our martyrs inscribed in golden letters in the history of our nation over three years ago, emphasizing that their memory will eternally live in the hearts of our people. This victory, achieved through the liberation of our ancient lands held under occupation for nearly 30 years, resulted in the restoration of our state's territorial integrity.
Subsequently, a film dedicated to Victory Day was screened.
Professor Ibrahim Habibov from the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering spoke about the importance of the historical victory, emphasizing that our victory not only ensured the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan but also demonstrated our country's power, strength, and unity to the entire world.
Participants of the Patriotic War, Niyaz Zeynalov, an assistant at ASOIU's Department of Industrial Machinery, and Kamran Babayev, a student at ASOIU and a war veteran, spoke about their challenging yet prideful experiences during the war, expressing a sense of pride for their modest contributions to the historical victory.
