On September 19 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a meeting with the freshmen of the Faculty of Oil and Gas Production. The meeting was attended by ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev and Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) Namig Ganjayev.
ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs A. Babayev congratulated the participants for becoming the new students of the university. Introducing the students to ASOIU disciplines, the Vice-Rector also noted that continuing the moral values of the university and studying well is the moral duty of each student. Vice-Rector A. Babayev talked about the work accomplished for the training of highly qualified and well-educated young people, emphasizing that students also carry certain responsibilities in this process.
Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) N. Ganjayev informed the newly arrived students about the university’s notable alumni and provided information on different sections of STUC. He made a detailed presentation on “Ganjlik” song and dance ensemble, “Magnat” intellectual club, “Club of funny and resourceful people” (KVN), “ASOIU Debate Club” and sports clubs which enable the students to spend their spare time more productively. In addition, N. Ganjayev mentioned 12 types of sports clubs (football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, wrestling, judo, swimming, chess, checkers, etc.) functioning on the basis of the university. He invited the students to take active participation in the social activities and join the clubs functioning within the institution.
At the end of the event, the students received answers to their questions.
