On November 23, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, in collaboration with the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education, commenced the proceedings of a republican scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, titled "Modern Problems and Perspectives of Economic Management.
The conference began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence to honor the dear memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, noted that within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev Year at ASOIU, a series of international conferences and events have been organized. Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov stated that this conference, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, holds special importance for studying and researching the current problems and prospective directions of economic development.
Highlighting the relevance of the topic, Professor Nazim Muzaffarli, the director of the Institute of Economics of the Ministry of Science and Education, emphasized that the conference was organized with the aim of addressing various aspects of the problems in ensuring the country's sustainable, innovative, and competitive economic development and discussing these issues.
During the conference, Professor Fuad Ganbarov, head of the "Regulation of Foreign Economic Activity" department of the Institute of Economics, spoke on "Non-Oil Export in Azerbaijan: Opportunities and Development Directions"; Dr. Rasmiyya Abdullayeva, the head of the "Inclusive Social Development" department of the Institute of Economics, discussed "Formation of Non-State Pension Provision in Azerbaijan"; Dr. Yashar Mammadov, the head of the "Monetary and Fiscal Regulation Problems" department of the Institute of Economics, presented on "Evaluation of the Development Level of the Healthcare System in Azerbaijan"; Aygun Tahmazli, a doctoral student at the Institute of Economics, addressed the audience on "Ensuring Social Development in Azerbaijan within the Framework of Sustainable Development Goals."
The conference concluded with the answering of participants' questions and the consideration of suggestions and recommendations. In total, 113 articles were submitted to the conference, and 101 of them passed the peer-review process. The conference continues with section meetings and will conclude on November 24.
