On September 21 Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a meeting with the freshmen of the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering. The meeting was attended by ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, Chairman of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) Namig Ganjayev and Dean of the Faculty of Oil Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences Ali Hikmat Ahmadov.
Making an opening statement, ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs A. Babayev congratulated the youth for becoming the new students of the university and wished them success in their studies. Saying today’s youth is the future of the country, Vice-Rector, Associate Professor A. Babayev introduced the students to disciplines of ASOIU. Associate Professor A. Babayev emphasized that the modern youth should also be disciplined along with being well-educated. The Vice-Rector recommended the new students to behave well and prepare for their classes seriously.
STUC Chairman N. Ganjayev informed that a university with honorary history ASOIU had trained many talented and world-renowned alumni. He talked about the significance of the Student Trade Union Committee in terms of bringing together the youth and defending their rights. He also gave information about available conditions and clubs that help the students to spend their leisure time productively and participate in the social activities of the university. N. Ganjayev said that each student may join and take active participation in “Ganjlik” song and dance ensemble, “Magnat” intellectual club, “Club of funny and resourceful people” (KVN), as well as “ASOIU Debate club” and sports club.
At the end of the event, the student received answers to their questions.
