On December 4, a meeting was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) with representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, ASOIU's Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Ulviyya Abbasova, Director of the Foreign Languages Department, Associate Professor Farida Huseynova, the Cultural Affairs Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, Salman Haji, Education Specialist Khanim Teilova, Regional English Language Specialist, John Silver, Regional Coordinator, Aycan Yaman, English Language Program Coordinator, Sabina Abdullayeva, colleagues from the International Relations Department, and Tiffany Tilman, a teacher at ASOIU under the Fulbright program, participated.
The guests were initially briefed on the university's teaching process, international projects, and collaboration initiatives.
The representatives of the U.S. Embassy, expressing their satisfaction with their visit to ASOIU, emphasized the importance of conducting training and workshops at the university. They discussed the significance of students and teachers participating in such training sessions. The meeting also involved discussions on potential areas of collaboration beyond workshops.
Tiffany Tilman, who teaches at ASOIU, spoke about the preparedness, activity, and language proficiency of the students. She highlighted the interest of young people in the English language.
