In the grant competition, 5 projects, including the project "Assessment of the Impact of Climate Change on the Water Resources of Karabakh with Innovative Methods" presented by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of ASOIU, Professor Latafat Gardashova, emerged as the winner.
Among the 8 executors of the project are representatives from ASOIU's faculties of Information Technologies and Control, Geological Exploration, and Chemical Technology, as well as collaborators from the “Sukanal” Scientific-Research and Design Institute and Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC.
The competition prioritizes stimulating research activities covering various scientific fields that can contribute to the development of our liberated territories, exploring the ancient and medieval history of Karabakh, conducting archaeological research in liberated areas, researching the historical and cultural monuments of Karabakh and surrounding regions, and delivering historical facts to the world public. Important aspects such as eliminating ecological problems, creating reserves of energy and water, evaluating and utilizing tourism potential, and implementing fundamental-applied projects are also considered as priority directions.
It should be noted that the implementation of the project is planned for a period of 2 years. The Science Development Foundation announced the "Karabakh is Azerbaijan-2!" targeted grant competition for the year 2023 in March. Project proposals were accepted for participation in the competition from March 7 to April 28, 2023.
