On December 9, a conference titled "Heydar Aliyev and New Azerbaijan" was held in collaboration with the Central Administration of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) and the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The event began with an exhibition of handcrafts by students of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.
Subsequently, a wreath was laid in front of the bust of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the foyer of the university, paying respectful tribute to the esteemed memory of this visionary personality.
The conference observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Addressing the participants, the Deputy Chairman of the New Azerbaijan Party, the head of the Central Administration, Tahir Budagov, welcomed the attendees and expressed best wishes for the success of the conference. Tahir Budagov stated that the research, promotion, and dissemination of the rich statesmanship legacy of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the New Azerbaijan Party, the architect of modern independent Azerbaijan, the National Leader of our people, and a globally renowned politician and statesman, are issues of constant relevance and importance. He highlighted the special significance of ongoing and numerous events held within the framework of the "Heydar Aliyev Year," declared in our country by the decree of President Ilham Aliyev. These events play a crucial role in exploring, promoting, and conveying the eternal and poetical ideas of Heydar Aliyev, while considering the rich heritage of his statesmanship.
The Deputy Chairman of the NAP pointed out that the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), which is currently successfully developing under the presidency of Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the political successor to the Great Leader, is actively implementing various events in the promotion of Heydar Aliyev's ideas, contributing significantly to Azerbaijan's achievements.
The head of the Central Administration of NAP noted that Heydar Aliyev's policy has endowed the Azerbaijani people with our most valuable national asset, state independence, and has paved the way for our country's secure progress in democracy, socio-economic development, and the transformation into an influential state in the international relations system.
Tahir Budagov emphasized that, following the magnificent victory achieved in the 44-day Patriotic War, and as a result of the subsequent military-strategic and diplomatic triumph under the command of President Ilham Aliyev during the "Heydar Aliyev Year," our tricolour flag is now waving in liberated territories, just as it does in other areas freed from occupation. The restoration of Azerbaijan's constitutional order, along with the unfurling of the flag in Khankendi, Khojaly, Aghdere, and Hojavend, is a historic event of great moral and political significance.
Tahir Budagov stated that, like patriotic individuals representing all layers of society, the Azerbaijani youth also plays a significant role today in realizing the ideas of the Great Leader.
Afterwards, Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev addressed the audience, highlighting that the year 2023 is one of the most glorious years in the history of our country.
Emin Amrullayev stated that the exceptional services of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev played a crucial role in achieving the current level of development for independent Azerbaijan and securing a deserving place in the global community. He emphasized the special role of Heydar Aliyev in the development of education and science in Azerbaijan, noting that educational reforms were initiated in our republic in the 1970s under Heydar Aliyev's leadership. According to the minister's words, Heydar Aliyev's efforts in expanding the education network have significant importance in the direction of Azerbaijan's citizens receiving education in the higher education institutions of the former Soviet Union.
The Minister pointed out that the State Program, approved by President Ilham Aliyev, continues to support the education of Azerbaijani students abroad, aiming to transform our country's oil capital into human capital. Under the State Program covering the years 2007-2015, up to 3500 of our youth have received education in prestigious foreign universities.
E. Amrullayev noted that Azerbaijani education is based on the ideology of Azerbaijaniism and our national-moral values, with one of the significant events being the establishment of Karabakh University in the city of Khankendi.
Member of the NAP Executive Board and Acting Rector of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Vazeh Asgarov, during his speech, expressed that the declaration of 2023 as the 'Heydar Aliyev Year' in our country by President Ilham Aliyev was warmly welcomed by the people.
Vazeh Asgarov stated that Heydar Aliyev's remarkable activities, decisive actions, and national mindset during the challenging period from the 1970s of the last century to the early years of the 21st century have left an eternal mark on the history of Azerbaijan.
The member of the NAP Executive Board noted that the Great Leader's leadership abilities, phenomenal memory, influential rhetorical skills, profound and extensive knowledge enabled him to make significant decisions easily, find his way into the minds and hearts of people effortlessly, establish communication with broad masses at any level, and lead them effectively.
Vazeh Asgarov mentioned that relying on his rich statecraft experience, the Great Leader laid the foundations of the historic Victory achieved in 2020 through intense political activity, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
Vazeh Asgarov stated that the victory achieved in the Patriotic War not only demonstrated to the world the immediate power and triumph of modern Azerbaijan but also revealed that a strong foundation had been created, nurturing a patriotic young generation, well-versed in national spirit.
Later, a documentary film titled 'Heydar Aliyev and New Azerbaijan,' prepared by Yeni TV, the media organ of the New Azerbaijan Party, was screened during the event.
Later, NAP Executive Board member and Member of the Milli Majlis Kamal Jafarov provided information about the "Heydar Aliyev Political School."
A member of the NAP Executive Board emphasized how Heydar Aliyev determined Azerbaijan's development path, foreign policy, and military strategy.
During his speech, Ali Hasanov, a member of the NAP Veterans Council, stated that Heydar Aliyev demonstrated exceptional activity and carried out unparalleled deeds both during the Soviet era and in the years of independence when he led our republic.
The member of the NAP Veterans Council noted that in the early 1990s, during a period of economic and political chaos in the republic, when the country faced the danger of being erased from the world map, only a personality like Heydar Aliyev could rescue our people.
Ali Hasanov stated that the policies implemented by the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the direction of building a strong economy and a powerful army were aimed at liberating the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, and indeed, it happened that way.
Nurana Huseynzade, a participant in the 'Heydar Aliyev Political School' project, then delivered a speech.
The official part of the event concluded with the performance of the Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party.
Eventually, the artistic part of the program featured a performance by students of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.
