Meeting of Academic Board held at ASOIU

On September 27 the Academic Board of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held its next meeting. Rector of ASOIU Professor Mustafa Babanli opened the meeting and, before passing to daily issues, congratulated the 80th anniversary of the Professor of “Geology and development of mineral deposits” Department, real member of ANAS Arif Ismayilzada and the 70th anniversary of the Professor of “Geophysics” Department Tofig Ahmadov, wishing them success in their life and activities. The jubilees expressed their gratitude to Rector M. Babanli and Academic Board members for such attention and promised to continue doing their best for the university’s achievements.  

Vice-Rector for academic affairs Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov provided the Academic Board members with comprehensive information on the results of 2016/2017 academic year and the tasks of the staff for the new school year. He highlighted the success indicators of each faculty and other statistical data. In addition, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov gave a report on the results of student admission to ASOIU Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels (including the college) in 2017.

At the meeting of the Board, Head of Academic Services Office Associate Professor Latifa Mammadova talked about the results of summer internships and summer school of students.

Head of International Cooperation Office Jamila Ismayilzada made a speech on the organization of summer schools at ASOIU.

Scientific Secretary, Associate Professor Yetar Aliyeva gave information about the composition of the Commission, established in accordance with the Rules of appointment of the head of department and dean for 2016/2017 academic year.

At the meeting of the Academic Board, discussions were held on the current situation of preparatory works for the accreditation to be conducted by FIBAA, selection and confirmation of topics for diploma theses, report of the ASOIU delegation on the results of the visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, discipline in ASOIU and other issues.
