On February 22, a meeting between Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) and Bahçeşehir University (BAU) of the Republic of Türkiye was held.

The meeting was attended by ASOIU's Acting Rector, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov, vice-rectors, the rector's advisor, as well as the advisor to the rector of Bahçeşehir University on Relations with the Turkic World, Prof. Dr İhsan Alpargın, the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ebru Canan Sokullu, and members of the BAU professor-teaching staff, Dr. Yüksel Alper Ecevit, Dr. Zekeriya Tüzen.

Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov expressed his satisfaction with welcoming the guests in an auditorium named after the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. He discussed the teaching process, specialities, ASOIU's position in world rankings, international relations, as well as existing cooperation with Turkish universities and exchange programs. He expressed readiness to further expand cooperation with Bahçeşehir University and implement new projects in relevant fields.

Prof. Dr. Ebru Canan Sokullu, the dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences at Bahçeşehir University and the director of CIFAL Istanbul/UNITAR, expressed gratitude to ASOIU leadership for their hospitality and warm welcome. Emphasizing the necessity for the development of new directions in cooperation with ASOIU, including various scientific research activities in areas such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, globalization, scientific research, and green energy, they also noted their interest in student and faculty exchanges in this direction.

During the meeting, discussions were held on areas of collaboration, including the implementation of joint educational programs and the exchange of ideas regarding the realization of new projects. The importance of expanding collaborative efforts in these and other areas was emphasized. At the end of the meeting, souvenir gifts were presented. Finally, the guests acquainted themselves with the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship Center.
