ASOIU hosts next Academic Board meeting

On February 28, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held its regular Academic Board meeting. As usual, Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, commenced the session by announcing the agenda items, which were subsequently approved by the board members.

Following the agenda, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, presented the results of the autumn semester examination session for the 2023/2024 academic year, as well as the approval of ASOIU's activity plan for 2024. Professor Latafat Gardashova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, also delivered a report on the results of the autumn semester examination session for master's programs during the academic year 2023/2024. Subsequently, Associate Professor Farid Agayev, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Control, presented the annual report on the faculty's activities.

During the meeting of the Academic Board, upon the recommendation of the Scientific Secretary Narmina Aliyeva, it was decided to submit documents to the Higher Attestation Commission for the award of the academic title of Associate Professor to two young specialists at ASOIU. Bahruz Nazarov, Director of the Public Relations and Marketing Department, provided information regarding ASOIU's preparations and planned activities related to the declaration of 2024 as the "Green World Solidarity Year" in the country and Azerbaijan's hosting of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). He also outlined the formation of a working group and the tasks that the university and its partner institutions would undertake in this regard. The report on the activities of the Start-up and Innovation Center was presented by Elviz Ismayilov, Director of the Digital Development and Innovations Center. Suggestions and proposals were made by the board members on each issue discussed, and unanimous decisions were reached.

Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov, provided information about the final attestation of students who have completed their higher education studies, the results of the examination session, and the survey conducted among students. Then he shared his recommendations and suggestions regarding the matters discussed, assigning tasks for future work and setting objectives.
