On September 28 the Student Trade Union Committee of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a meeting with Airat Mardeev, honored sports master of the Russian Federation, winner of DAKAR 2015 Rally, twofold winner of Silk Way Rally and legendary pilot of KAMAZ-master.

Making an opening statement, Editor-in-chief of Autograph online publishing house Natig Zarbaliyev greeted the guests and presented the legendary sports master to students. He spoke with A. Mardeev about the passion of the well-known sportsman for extreme sports and his achievements in this area. Then a video of drifts, that A. Mardeev and his team demonstrated in sports competitions in extreme situations and bad conditions of roads, was shown to students. The participants watched the video of rally drifts with great excitement and enthusiasm.

At the end of the event, famous Rally star answered the questions of students. Owners of creative questions were awarded by A. Mardeev.

Notably, KAMAZ-master crews won the DAKAR Rally 14 times. They are known as the strongest world Autosport team in sports trucks. The team consists of 5 World Cup trophies and 8 international sports masters.

The current pilot of the team Airat Mardeev and a few members of the crew are now in Baku. Airat Mardeev was awarded the title “Honored Sports Master” of the Russian Federation. He is also the winner of DAKAR 2015 Rally and twofold winner of Silk Way Rally.
