On April 6th, the XXIII Report-Election Conference of the Trade Union Committee (TUC) of the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industrial University (ASOIU) was held.

After the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, followed by a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, TUC Chairman Mazahir Babayev delivered his report presentation.

Speaking about the work done for ASOIU's colleagues in defending labour and social rights, providing rest and treatment in sanatoriums and recreation centers, and providing financial assistance and awards, M. Babayev emphasized the increasing support provided at university cultural and public events during the previous period. M. Babayev attributed the expansion of TUC's activities to its increased budget, noting that this was a result of the economic progress in the country. Speaking about the liberation of Azerbaijani territories from occupation in 2020 under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev, M. Babayev referred to financial support and donations provided to the Azerbaijan Armed Forces Assistance Fund "Yaşat" and the Karabakh Revival Fund, as well as to employees who were war veterans and soldiers. Following the positive remarks about TUC's activities from the Head of the Inspection Commission, discussions took place during which the elected members of the conference greatly appreciated the work of the Trade Union Committee.

ASOIU Acting Rector Vazeh Asgarov emphasized that TUC plays a significant role not only in the university's social life but also in its academic and scientific activities. Referring to President Ilham Aliyev's effective policies, Assoc. Prof. Vazeh Asgarov highlighted the recent presidential elections held on February 7th as a clear example of President Aliyev securing an overwhelming majority of votes from the electorate, ensuring his re-election. He extended his best wishes to TUC and the newly re-elected Chairman, M. Babayev.
