ASOIU hosts educational discussion on "Reduce Sugar, Extend Life!"

On April 8, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held a meeting organized by the Department of Organic Substances and Technology of High-Molecular Compounds of the Faculty of Chemical Technology within the framework of the "Reduce Sugar, Extend Life!" campaign initiated by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA).

Addressing the participants, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Technology, Professor Sevinj Mammadkhanova, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of such events in educating not only students specializing in the field but also the general public about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and diet.

The meeting, attended by students specializing in "Food Engineering," featured presentations from representatives of the Azerbaijan Food Safety Institute (AFSI), Sabina Nuruzada and Billura Mikayilli, as well as the Food Safety Agency (FSA), Irada Huseynli and Laman Abbasova. They discussed topics such as "Hazards of Sugar," "Sugar Substitutes" and "The Importance of Fruits and Vegetables in Daily Diets."

At the end of the meeting, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions, addressing their concerns.

It is noteworthy that the AFSA's "Reduce Sugar, Extend Life!" campaign aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population and encourages citizens to consume sugar according to recommended norms.
