On April 19, a seminar on "Our Green Pledges to Climate Variability" was organized by the Power Engineering Faculty of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) within the framework of the "Green World Solidarity Year".
During the opening speech of the seminar, the Dean of the Power Engineering Faculty, Associate Professor Aydin Aliyev, greeted the participants and discussed the serious responsibilities faced by countries in the modern complex ecological situation and ecological crises. In doing so, he underscored the country's resolute commitment to addressing global climate change through its hosting of COP 29. He also highlighted that the declaration of 2024 as the "Green World Solidarity Year" in Azerbaijan, according to the Presidential Order, will further accelerate the country's efforts in this direction. He noted that organizing diverse ecological events in the education sector makes an invaluable contribution to the "Green World Solidarity Year".
Following this, Associate Professor Sevinj Babayeva from the Department of Energy Production Technologies presented "Research on the Use of Alternative Energy in Heating Supply of Individual Residences in Karabakh Economic Zone," student Alish Shirinov discussed "The Role of Green Energy Strategy in Azerbaijan's Sustainable Development," PhD student Alakbar Heydarov talked about "The Role of Smart Grid and Artificial Intelligence Technologies in the Integration of Renewable Energy Sources," and PhD student Ismayil Ismayilov presented on "Measurement of Partial Discharges in High Voltage Electrical Machines using Rogowski Coils and High-Frequency Current Transformers."
At the end of the event, participants' questions were answered.
