Textbook on "Artificial Intelligence" prepared for students

Under the scientific leadership of Professor Rafig Aliyev, Director of BA Programs at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), a textbook titled "Artificial Intelligence" has been developed jointly by the collective efforts of ASOIU and Tashkent State Technical University (TSTU) for students.

This new textbook differs from existing textbooks, such as S. Russell's "Artificial Intelligence" and C.C. Aggarwal's "Artificial Intelligence". The aforementioned textbooks primarily focus on hard computational methodologies, including symbolic computation and classical first-order logic. In contrast, the new textbook focuses on modern approaches based on soft computing, such as fuzzy logic, hybrid systems, and similar techniques. Additionally, the textbook covers new applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in areas such as big data, Internet of Things (IoT), and Industry 4.0.

Comprising 13 chapters and a glossary, the textbook's content encompasses problem-solving, knowledge management, data acquisition, soft computing and neurocomputing, machine learning, natural language processing, decision-making, expert systems, robotics, cloud computing, and Internet of Things (IoT), encapsulating contemporary theories and practices of artificial intelligence.

The presentation of materials, ranging from simple to complex, aligns with leading university curricula and accumulated international experience, fitting the contemporary trends in AI theory development and complex problem-solving.

The textbook is intended for students specializing in "Artificial Intelligence", "Automation and Control" and "Computer Science", as well as those interested in developing intellectual systems and making decisions under uncertain conditions.

The textbook has received positive feedback from researchers in the field of AI from various countries. Currently, a Russian-language edition of the textbook has been published for students by the "Mərifət" Publishing House in Uzbekistan, with versions in Azerbaijani, Uzbek, and English languages being prepared for printing.
