On May 6, the Republic Scientific Conference for Doctoral Students and Young Researchers dedicated to the 101st anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, within the "Green World Solidarity Year" and COP 29, commenced at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU).

The conference began with laying flowers at the bust of the Great Leader, Heydar Aliyev, in a deep respect for his memory.

 The event started with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence to honour the memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.

Following this, a short documentary film about the life and creative work of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was screened.

In his opening speech at the conference, Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, welcomed the participants and discussed the events organized to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized the significance of hosting such a scientific conference for young researchers and doctoral students within the "Green World Solidarity Year" and COP29. Associate Professor V. Asgarov noted that the political course initiated by the Great Leader, which served the Azerbaijani people, the ideology of Azerbaijanis, and the youth of Azerbaijan, continues successfully today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Member of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, state official, and Doctor of Historical Sciences Hasan Hasanov expressed his satisfaction with participating in the conference and spoke about the invaluable services of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people and nation, sharing his memories related to him.

Following this, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of ASOIU, Professor Latafat Gardashova, and the Head of the Doctoral Department, Associate Professor Zulfugar Ibrahimli, emphasized the scientific significance of the conference and the important role of science and education, highlighting the importance of achieving high results in this field. The conference proceeded with sectional meetings.
