The "My Path in IT" event was organized jointly by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, and the "Algorithmics" International School of Mathematics and Programming through the "Digital Skills" and "Code For Future" projects.
The event was attended by Fidan Najafova, Head of the Department of the State Agency for Preschool and General Education, Ayaz Abushov, Deputy Head of the Education System Informatization Department, Yulia Sivaldayeva, Coordinator of the "Code For Future" project at the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Gamar Mammadova, Project Manager at "Algorithmics" International School of Mathematics and Programming, and other guests.
Over 300 students registered for the initial stage of the "My Path in IT" workshop. Of these, 105 advanced to the second stage. In the final stage, a total of 52 students qualified: 42 from Baku schools, 4 from Sumgayit, 5 from Mingachevir, and 1 from Ganja.
In the final stage, a workshop session was held for the 10th and 11th-grade students who were selected as finalists and who are interested in pursuing a degree in Information Technology within the "Digital Skills" project. The session included participation from teachers and students involved in the "Code For Future" project. At the beginning of the session, teachers provided training on web programming and creating web pages using HTML tools. Following this, students began working on projects based on given assignments under the mentorship of "Code For Future" students. By the end of the session, students had designed and created a web page. The projects, which were completed within two hours, were reviewed and assessed by the teachers.
It is worth noting that 13 graduates of the "Code For Future" project are currently third and fourth-year IT students at ASOIU. At the end of the "My Path in IT" workshop, the winning team was selected among the participating teams. Each member of the winning team received valuable gifts and certificates. Additionally, every finalist who participated in the workshop was awarded a certificate.
