On June 7, the Azerbaijani-French University (UFAZ) hosted the International Scientific Conference "Trends in Information Technology" dedicated to the 101st anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, organized by the "Computer Engineering" department of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) as part of COP29.
In the opening speech, ASOIU's Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Professor Latafat Gardashova, informed the participants about the conference and discussed the importance of holding such events in the modern era.
Speakers included Elmir Valizade, Head of Sector at the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Rashad Allahverdiyev, IT Project Manager at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Khayala Fatullayeva, Head of the Digital Economy Department; Rauf Jabbarov, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of the Public Association of Azerbaijani Cybersecurity Organizations; Babek Agayev, Chairman of Prosol; Elvin Abbasov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Information and Communication Technologies Industry Association; Farid Agayev, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Control (ITCF) at ASOIU; and Nazila Rahimova, Head of the "Computer Engineering" Department at ASOIU. They emphasized that, in the modern era, the scale, volume, and complexity of information technology are unprecedented in human history. They highlighted the anticipated technological leaps in artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, nanotechnology, biotechnology, and more.
The speakers also noted that the main goal of holding the International Scientific Conference "Trends in Information Technology" within the framework of COP29 and dedicated to the 101st anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev's birth is to explore the advantages of "Trends in Information Technology" which ensure the transition to fully automated digital production controlled by intelligent systems in real-time interaction with the external environment. The conference aimed to present to the public innovations in automation and robotics, big data, green technologies, cybersecurity systems, and digital world advancements.
The conference, which lasted three days with plenary sessions, concluded at ASOIU, with discussions and results deemed satisfactory.
