ASOIU reviews preparations for the new academic year

On September 13, a meeting was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) to discuss the current state of preparations for the new academic year. The meeting, attended by ASOIU Acting Rector Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, the university’s vice-rectors, faculty deans, and department heads, focused on reviewing preparations for the 2024/2025 academic year. Successful tasks were highlighted, and extensive discussions took place regarding upcoming work and future prospects.

Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov noted the high level of admissions to ASOIU for the 2024/2025 academic year and emphasized that it is crucial to meet the expectations of the young students who have trusted ASOIU with the important stage of their higher education journey. He stressed the need for the university to work as a team and for everyone to fulfill their duties and responsibilities at the highest level.

Faculty deans and department heads provided updates on the readiness for teaching in various specializations, the distribution of teaching loads, and efforts to recruit new scholars to the teaching staff.

In conclusion, Acting Rector Vazeh Asgarov remarked that preparations for the 2024/2025 academic year were generally satisfactory. He also stressed the importance of efficiently continuing the process of transforming ASOIU into a national research university. Assoc. Prof. Vazeh Asgarov noted that the significant state support for education and science imposes serious responsibilities on every member of the university's academic and administrative staff. He provided recommendations and guidance on improving the quality of education, advancing scientific achievements, and quickly integrating modern innovations into the teaching process while reiterating the key objectives.
