On September 16, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, Acting Rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU), met with Sergey Khristolyubov, Regional Director of Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), one of the world’s most prestigious ranking organizations.

The meeting, which also included Associate Professor Ulviya Abbasova, Deputy Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Aysel Karimli, Head of the International Relations Department, focused on ASOIU's achievements in the 2024 QS rankings. Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov emphasized the university’s goal to further improve its educational standards and develop its modern education system in the coming years, with an aim to advance further in the QS rankings through continued success.

Sergey Khristolyubov praised ASOIU’s rapid rise in international rankings, including QS, over recent years. He highlighted that ASOIU has made notable progress in academic indicators, especially in the past two years, achieving a threefold increase in international voting metrics compared to the previous year.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a five-year agreement between the parties, marking a significant step in strengthening mutual collaboration. This agreement is expected to positively impact ASOIU's continued progress in international ranking platforms, including QS.
