First Academic Board meeting of the new academic year at ASOIU

On September 23, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held the first meeting of the Academic Board for the 2024/2025 academic year. As per tradition, Acting Rector, Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov, congratulated Ata Babayev, Director of the Baku Oil-Energy College under ASOIU and Associate Professor at the university, along with Farid Agayev, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology and Control, on their anniversaries, wishing them good health and success in their work.
Following this, Acting Rector Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov announced the items on the agenda and the board approved the agenda. Discussing the outcomes of the 2023/2024 academic year and preparations for the new academic year, he informed board members about the work completed, existing shortcomings, achievements, and the main tasks the university community faces in improving education quality and enhancing scientific achievements in the 2024/2025 academic year. He stressed the importance of each team member performing their duties and tasks at the highest level to achieve continuous success and meet targets.
At the meeting, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov provided an overview of admissions to undergraduate programs (including UFAZ and colleges), shared faculty-specific admission statistics, and presented the results of the State Certification for undergraduate graduates in the 2023/2024 academic year.
In line with the agenda, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Professor Latafat Gardashova reported on admissions to master programs and the defence of master’s dissertations at ASOIU in 2024. Acting Executive Director of UFAZ Latifa Nasibova also presented proposals regarding the organization of work with international students and the establishment of named scholarships for master students.
After reviewing the successful completion of the previous academic year, the board evaluated the work accomplished, scientific achievements, and other important matters as satisfactory. Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov shared his observations and suggestions on the discussed issues and provided instructions for addressing shortcomings and completing the necessary tasks.
