ASOIU holds an event dedicated to multiculturalism

An event titled “Contributions and multicultural values of Azerbaijan to the world cultural civilization” organized by “Modern woman and society” PU was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on October 13. The event was attended by ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Associate, Professor Ata Babayev, chairperson of the PU Fidan Magsudova, Director of Baku International Multiculturalism Centre Elsevar Samadov, head of DAHAI community Ramazan Asgaraov, head of Talysh community Professor Imamverdi Hamidov and students.

Opening the event, ASOIU Vice-Rector, Associate Professor A. Babayev spoke about the promotion of multicultural values and the significance of work accomplished in this field. Later, the participants made speeches on “Multiculturalism is the State policy of Azerbaijan and lifestyle of our society”, “Multicultural values in Azerbaijan”, “Islamic solidarity – an example of Azerbaijan”.

Notably, the purpose of the event is to promote the national interests, multicultural values, tolerance and Islamic solidarity of our country in foreign countries and support the elimination of inclinations towards Islamophobia.
