On November 4, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted an event titled "Our Victory is Our Pride" dedicated to Victory Day, organized by the Department of Humanitarian Disciplines.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our lands.
Professor Jamal Mustafayev, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Disciplines, provided an overview of the event and noted that the Patriotic War, which began on September 27, 2020, and lasted 44 days, has become the brightest page in our history and a source of pride and honour for the Azerbaijani people.
A video presentation about the martyrs was then shown. Associate Professor Yashar Ahmadov spoke about Azerbaijan's centuries-old history and emphasized that the heroic sons who brought us Victory Day will forever live in the hearts of the Azerbaijani people. Later, Aposh Valiyev, brother of martyred Major Vusal Valiyev, shared memories of his brother.
During the event, Associate Professor Ruslan Abdullayev stated that the 44-day Patriotic War and our historic victory once again proved to the world the invincibility of the Azerbaijani army. Veterans Kamran Nazarli, Zulfugar Novruzov, Farid Dursunaliyev, and Javidan Mehdiyev then shared their combat experiences with event participants.
