On November 7, a ceremony dedicated to November 8 - Victory Day was held at the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). The event began with a visit to the memorial complex of ASOIU alumni, followed by the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a moment of silence in memory of the martyrs.
A documentary film about the 44-day Patriotic War was then screened. In his opening speech, Acting Rector, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov noted that four years have passed since our Glorious victory and congratulated everyone on this occasion.
Speaking about the 44-day Patriotic War and the factors that led to victory, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov mentioned that the historic victory of the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev is being proudly celebrated today throughout the sovereign territory of Azerbaijan.
Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov noted that auditoriums have been dedicated to each of ASOIU's 23 martyred alumni, emphasizing that the memory of these martyred alumni will always be cherished and their names will forever live in all our hearts.
Family members and relatives of the martyrs who attended the event then spoke, expressing their gratitude for the attention and care shown to the memory of the martyrs and their families.
Kamran Babayev, an ASOIU student who participated in the Patriotic War, spoke about his difficult yet proud combat experience and the victory of our army.
The event concluded with a performance of the "Lachin" dance by ASOIU's "Ganjlik" Song and Dance Ensemble and the song "Ey Vatan" (Oh Homeland) performed by students.
