On October 9, the Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) hosted an training session aimed at expanding the research capacities of academic staff within its Faculties of Energy and Information Technology and Control. The training was conducted by Rashad Shikhiyev, Head of the Internal Quality Assurance Sector, and Shamil Ahmadov, Specialist of the Strategy and Promotion Sector at the Science and Education Analytics Center.
Participants included faculty deans, department heads, and members of the teaching staff, who explored the methodologies for navigating and utilizing leading international abstracting and indexing databases. The session delved into H-index evaluation, citation impact, and the categorization of scientific journals within the Q1-Q4 framework as outlined by Web of Science and Scopus. Practical discussions emphasized how academic visibility and institutional representation in these high-tier journals contribute to global academic standing.
