The Academic Board of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) held its next meeting on October 25. Rector of ASOIU, Professor Mustafa Babanli opened the meeting and, before passing to daily issues, presented the diploma of honorary title “Honored professor of ASOIU” to the Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering Sabir Osmanov and wished him success in his future activities. In addition, Rector, Prof M. Babanli congratulated on behalf of the Academic Board the head of the Ph.D. office Latafat Gardashova for being chosen the “Scientist of 2016” within the framework of the targeted grant competition “The worthiest scientist” of the Science Development Foundation (SDF) under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov informed about the completion of the academic load planned for 2016/2017 academic year and the composition of the faculty members and teaching assistants for 2017/2018 academic year. Moreover, Associate Professor Gasim Mammadov shared information about the results of the State Attestation on Bachelor’s graduation and defense of Master’s dissertations.

Dean of the Faculty of Geological Exploration, Associate Professor Namad Pashayev delivered a yearly report at the meeting.

The approval of MBA training programs, planning of the activity of the Alumni and Career Center, current teaching level at English-taught groups, participation of ASOIU scientists and young researchers in SFD-supported projects, structure of Bachelor’s theses and Master’s dissertations and other issues were discussed at the meeting.
