On January 15, a meeting was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) with the Board of Directors and heads of structural divisions of the Education Quality Assurance Agency (EQAA).
Acting Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Vazeh Askarov, welcomed the guests and highlighted the university's accomplishments during the current academic year, particularly its achievements in international rankings. He discussed the priorities moving forward, noting that the agency has set new tasks for the university for the next five years. Associate Professor Vazeh Asgarov emphasized that corresponding goals will be defined, and an active implementation plan will be initiated to address these objectives.
Chairman of the Board of EQAA, Tural Ahmadov, expressed his pleasure at visiting an institution with a rich history. He highlighted ASOIU’s success in rankings and the accreditation process over recent years and noted that implementation has begun on recommendations across 68 areas. He stated that developing an action plan for these recommendations and related activities reflects the strong collaboration between the agency and the university.
The meeting also focused on the perspectives of cooperation between ASOIU and EQAA, the significance of the accreditation process, and alignment with quality standards in higher education. Participants shared their views and posed questions in a mutually engaging discussion format.
At the conclusion of the event, the agency presented ASOIU with an “Institutional Accreditation Certificate.”
