An awareness-raising seminar on “Fighting human trafficking and labor exploitation among vulnerable population groups”, organized by the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Drug Prevention Office (Public Union), was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) on October 26.

The event was attended by ASOIU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Ata Babayev, Deputy Chairman of the PU Leyla Yolchiyeva and students. Opening the event, Vice-Rector, Associate Professor A. Babayev spoke about the significance of the seminar and stressed the importance of raising the awareness of young people to fight human trafficking and labor exploitation.

Deputy Chairman of the National Drug Prevention Office L. Yolchiyeva stated the aim of the event and provided comprehensive information on defending the rights of youth, current conditions, ways and measures taken to prevent human trafficking. Awareness-raising information on measures to combat human trafficking, its prevention, defense of victims of human trafficking and legal and organizational basis to help them was also provided at the event.

At the end of the event, participants held topical discussions and were given awareness-raising handouts.
