On March 5, a meeting was held at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU) with representatives from O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), India to discuss potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions.
Rector of ASOIU, Associate Professor Rufat Azizov, welcomed the guests and provided an overview of the university’s history, international collaborations, research activities, academic structure, and technical infrastructure. He emphasized ASOIU’s interest in expanding international partnerships in renewable energy and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange and joint initiatives in heavy industry, green energy, wind, and solar power, underlining the necessity of training highly qualified specialists to meet the demands of Azerbaijan’s rapidly developing non-oil sector.
From JGU, Rahul Bhandari, Senior Specialist at Jindal Global Business School, and Swapnil S. Bhosale, Senior Manager at the Office of Rankings, Benchmarking, and Institutional Transformation, expressed their gratitude for the warm reception. They provided detailed insights into JGU’s history, infrastructure, global partnerships, rankings, research capabilities, and academic excellence. Visiting Azerbaijan for the first time, the delegation expressed keen interest in establishing academic and research collaboration, emphasizing that such initiatives would benefit both universities and open doors to extensive research opportunities.
The meeting also included discussions on student and faculty exchanges, summer schools, joint research projects, and other forms of collaboration between ASOIU and JGU.
At the end of the meeting, the guests were presented with commemorative gifts.
